Artist Statement: The wall art prints in the Street Scenes/People Gallery are my compilation of pieces I did centered around people in social settings and typical street scenes. The look is unique as I used a variety of watercolor and oil painting techniques. The different techniques create totally different visual experiences for a variety of interior designs. Many of the styles can be used in different decor depending on the way the art print is matted and framed. The final presentation can make a world of difference allowing the print to either stand out as a focal point or blend in with the rest of the room as a complimentary addition to the overall look.
My approach to the prints in this gallery was to capture typical scenes that we see everyday. I included typical street scenes in a variety of settings from urban to village. I also captured people in social settings from outdoor cafes to strolling along the street. Some of the locations I used are obvious and some not so obvious. You will find street scenes and people in New Orleans, Boston, Whistler, British Columbia, Seattle, San Antonio and several New England villages.
I would also like to note that I am available for custom work in printing an art print for you. I have re-cropped prints to fit a specific size for a client and added wider white matting so a print can be immediately put into an existing frame with a matted look. An example of this would be some of the black and white photography art prints. I left some of those prints with the wide white matting look. My pricing is based on the ultimate size of the print and not the extra work to customize. I believe this is one of the advantages I have in my gallery since I do my own printing.
I invite you to share in my love of art and take some of these art prints home for your own Wall Gallery! Kirt Tisdale
