Flintstones Bedrock Jail - was created using a fauvism (Fauvism: a style of painting with vivid expressionistic and non-naturalistic use of color that flourished in Paris from 1905) technique of a jail. This technique uses abstract shapes and variations of colors to create a unique look. (Click on the picture for a larger image)
The setting is a tourist attraction in northern Arizona of the fictitious town of Bedrock made famous by the Flintstones cartoon. This attraction is located south of the Grand Canyon and inspired me to recreate some of the buildings I saw using an abstract and surreal approach, thus the fauvism style.
When you are considering an art print, the interior design of the room comes into play and the look you are going for with any given print comes into the decision process. This particular style of wall art print works best in a contemporary room decor. However, an influencing factor is the framing and matting style, which can dictate what decor the final piece will look good in versus just the style of the art print by itself.
