The Tracks by the House: a wall art print where I used a pointillism watercolor technique creating this scene. This technique uses round dots for brush strokes and subdued colors creating a soft, warm look. This particular wall art print depicts railroad tracks running very close to a home. The home is actually the local Chamber of Commerce and the tracks have been abandoned for some time. (Click on the picture for a larger image)
The setting is Issaquah, Washington located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain range to the east of Seattle. Once a small stop along the rail line between Seattle to the west and North Bend in the Cascade Mountains to the east, this town has become a thriving and vibrant suburb within the metropolitan area of Seattle.
